Saw this B while traveling through the hills of Tennessee. In my limited experience farming, I've never operated a dual wheel tractor, but have generally assumed that duals were to utilize available horsepower or lessen compaction. Those perameters don't seem appropriate for a B. Is it logical that the duals may have been installed to serve as an
anti-roollover precaution?

Must be a late model B, with those bolted hubs/rims.

I thought from the title it would have had short tires on one side and tall ones on the otherLOL Or would that have been a WestVirginia B?Clap
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

The front tires don't track with the rear as most B's. Also the gap between the rear tire and fender is a little wide for a B. I am guessing it might be a C with a B front.

I think you may be right Dick. Not that amounts to a hill of beans. But it just doesn't look right to be a "B", but what do I know? Be that it may, thanks for putting it on here.   Leon

Was the tooth in the middle or on one side Dave?  Probably wasn't a bucket tooth, it probably had a "buck tooth"!   LOL!

I can see where they'd help for flotation, but does a B really have enough power to make good use of them when pulling implements, like a disc?
I've given thought to dualing mine up for more traction/flotation.

That picture brings back old memories to me. When I was young we had a C Allis and my dad rigged up duals on it and I pulled a 10' tadem disk with it. Yes it had power to pull it.

Pulling a disc on plowed ground will pull easer with duals. If you notice when on loose ground your single rear tires are not on top of the loose ground. As your pulling the load the tires are trying to climb up on top as it moves forward. The tires are turning faster than your forward movement. That takes up horse power. When you add duals the tractor still is not totally on the level with the top of the loose dirt but will be less to sink in and forward movement will increase.

When I added duals to my Oliver 1850's I was able to step up one gear. It made going up hills on loose ground much easier also.

If your doing fitting of ground and wondering about loosing power by doing so, fear not.

Taking another look at the inside rear wheel I see the wide side of the rim is to the inside with the short side facing out. This makes me sure it at the very least C final drives.
