Here's a neat video of some Allis crawlers ripping for a new waterline. An impressive amount of power to have chained in a row.  Be sure to note the model the crawlers are!

Not any rust on those chains. Are those 41's? They are hard to count, but I think there are six.

Yup they're 41's you can see it on the fuel tank on the second to last one.

The tractors are tied together with ships's anchor chain, purchased in New Orleans and trucked to North Dakota/Montana.  Contractor is Northern Improvement Company out of Bismarck. They were a large Allis Chalmers/FA before the demise of AC. Now all Caterpillar and JD equipment.

I was just past northern improvements yard in Bismarck today. They still had a 41 sittinf there. Darrel
