You know it looks great but if you are going to ask top dollar you need to put some details in there. No mention of hours or what has been done to it other than what is seen. A fancy paint job is all I can see.

Well said! Everyone talking if you're going to restore a tractor do it right, don't recall seeing the word "restored" anywhere in the description. Let's face it we're not talking about serial number 1 waukesha B or something

That's strange looking at the add on the I-pad I didn't see the description but on the desk top PC I see it all. Strange. Now reading the description the $27K is not all that far out of line.

I suspect I had better apologize for bringing up the wheel color, but in my defense, check out the last line of my post. Darrel

I noticed the inj pump. I would rather see it like that than painted over. I have a 76 model 7040. If I was looking for a tractor that size, I would call the guy on this one. But I would prefer a PD simply because of more speed selection. If this tractor has documentation of the engine rebuild and service records, I would make an offer on it. That is a "buy it now" price, but he also has the "make an offer" option. I bought a new New Holland 2wd 165 hp tractor in 2010. My 7040 would out pull it any day of the week, no matter if drawbar or pto work. I gave $142,000 for that POS. I would give the asking price for this particular tractor long before buying another new one. And we have repainted 3 of our 7000 series tractors, nothing like this one, ofcourse, and it costs a lot in labor and materials to do a farm shop repaint. No telling what he has in just the paint job.

Bet if the engine breakdowns, you won't have to be a software engineer to fix it!

I noticed a lot of things not done to original. The emblem in the grille looks dumb( in my opinion. The wheel color and top ruins it for me. Correct police or not. There is a big difference in a repainted and a restored tractor. If your going to restore a tractor, that to me is make it like original. Put the decals in the right place, put the original tach and gauges in it, fix anything that isn't original and put it back to that. Then you have a nice restored tractor. But this is a nice looking repainted tractor. But a lot of people on here , would pay more for a nice low houred original tractor, then this one. IG

Bid is up to $5400 so far, I'd say $18,500 is almost reasonable to ask, not sure anyone will pay that.  I see it's for sale at Progressive Automotive in Salem, Ohio.  Isn't one of our forum members from that area?  Oughta check it out.

I just looked at the 7040 listing. I saw the $27,500 price. I also saw an ad above it that said "sorry this ad has been discontinued" (or something like that). I clicked on that discontinued ad and behold, it was the same tractor and the price was $22,500. I guess he couldn't sell the thing so he raised the price. (I've done that before)
