 Topic: Help finding mark on governor gear

Hello everyone, I am having trouble recognizing the mark on the governor gear that matches up with the cam gear. Reading the service manual, there's supposed to be an oval mark somewhere, but I'm not finding it.
It's on a 1948 AC C engine.

Yes, it looks like bottom tooth on gear.
Just make sure with piston at TDC compression stroke, the magneto drive lugs are horizontal and you will be fine.

Never mind. Thank you for all your help.
I found it. Like a dummy, I was searching on the wrong side of the gear.
It is on the opposite side and is very apparent.

I keep seeing that the #1 post is at 10 o'clock when the fire mark is near on the flywheel. For some reason, mine is at 2 o'clock. The rotor at 2 o'clock, where the #1 spark plug wire is attached on the cap. The only problem is that it's a little early. The piston on #1 is still about a couple inches before TDC.
I don't know if someone before me messed it up, but it was running until I tore it down for an engine rebuild.

They mark everything to make installation easy.. you can put it together wrong, and put the plug wires on the wrong terminals in the end..... as long as it FIRES on #1 wire when that piston is at TDC.
