WTH ???? This evening in pretty much a whiteout 45 minutes before sunset, 4 out of 10 vehicles  had no headlights on but yet the wipers were running Confused. Sadly, the majority of the drivers were/are probably Stevies age (not teen agers) so I know these people should know better despite my high beam flashing and  hand gestures (not a single finger either LOL) . Common sense/courtesy in the USA is LONG GONE IMO CryCry

Those people probably know you Freedguy, and are driving around that way, on purpose.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Anybody that ‘high beams’ me, will get a hand gesture all right.

At one time Michigan law stated that whenever you needed your wipers you were to have your headlights on.

supposed to be on 1/2hr before sunset, 1/2 hr after sunrise...
that seems to be 'optional'......
same as 'daytime running lights'
ONLY need to work for the safety to get your tags up here
however, the other day I flash my lights to signal trucker my lane was claer to 'come on over' and he ACTUALLY acknowledged me by flashing HIS running lights ! That's he FIRST time in several YEARS that's happened.

I wonder if people haven't gotten to used to the auto setting on their headlights. Thinking they'll come on but in a whiteout it's probably too bright for the sensors to work

Auto Daytime Driving lamps have taken the place of Common Sense and lack ANY sense as to proper use.  See it EVERY Day where people have no clue they have only DDL on with NO Tail lamps on, most likely they also have no dash lamps but are oblivious as do not ever look but straight ahead, dangerous worthless driving fools.

Safety Features are eliminating Safe Driving Habits and Safety in general as Idiots put their FULL Trust in autonomy, gonna be saved by all this stuff so can drive like morons.

I agree with DMILLER on a lot of this, driving early morning and fog and all of a sudden the lights go out coming at you or following you.

Well.......... your right DAVE.. I did not know that.. Googled it and here it is.. I got a few years to go..not many !!  Big smile

Illinois currently requires a road test at every license renewal for drivers starting at age 75. The renewal period is every 4 years for drivers between ages 75–80, every 2 years for drivers 81–86 years old, and every year for those 87 and older.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Missouri is disbanding the License Examiners as to Driving Tests, the CDL testers are first to go, will undoubtedly see the disappearance of the next group as the State cannot replace them as retire, just no bodies.  Still a requirement for Children starting out to get a Driving Test but MO has nothing for Aged Adults.

I took my drivers license test 60 year ago and CDL test 58 years ago and gave up my CDL about 2 years ago I wasn't using it and couldn't see paying the extra money.
