I'm a new member here. i posted this in the Old Iron forum at HEF and someone suggested I put it here as well. My dad has an HD7 dozer setting in the woods. Straight blade (semi-U??), vertical hyd. cylinders that lift blade arms and tied together above canopy, has set approx 15+ years, 3-71 Detroit, we know the blower seals were bad (tip the dozer (to the right?) and the blower would start pulling oil for fuel, draining the airbox helped but not for long), the left steering clutch went out and he parked it, front-mounted hyd. pump, bareback (NO winch), the squirrels have removed the insulation from any wiring that I could see, the floor-plates for clutch access have been removed (they are there, I don't think he went any deeper than looking inside), we put a salvage-yard right front idler on it about a year before it quit steering.
It needs to be pulled about 1/4 mile out of the woods to be reached by a trailer big enough to haul it (Zig-zag road through the trees, very tight corners). His 4000 Ford ag tractor won't pull it with the blade on it.
He would like to see it go to someone who needs the parts rather than a recycling yard. Is it worth posting pics and trying to sell. I took some pics last weekend (All-around, track chains, shoes, blade, sprockets, idlers, engine, etc.. the works).
As an aside, does anyone remember the large equipment salvage yard that was between Neosho and Granby Missouri? It was beside highway Alt 71/59A/Old 71. (We got the idler there). I remember driving by and seeing those large shears chopping up dozers etc. for months. He had a Fiat-Allis 31 or 41 at one time, biggest dozer i've ever seen up-close!
If anyone's interested, just respond here or on HEF. (I'm on one or the other every few days). BTW there's no rush on getting it out, it's set this long and can rest a while longer Smile
     Sorry for the LONG post.

Pics of the above-mentioned HD7. I have/can take more pics if anyone wants to see specific details for their restoration or interest.
