I have a question about a HD6 that I am looking to buy....It starts easy ...runs fine...UNTIL you put a load on or work it...then it miss'es and kind of back fires...owner says he had the pump gone through and injectors checked out ... SO Im wondering..VALVES??? ... CAM??? ...TIMEING???... PISTONS??? ...What should I look at FIRST..... THANKS

I would check the fuel supply. Is the tank outlet plugged? It has happened to me several times, with a rag and a cover for fuel line deicer. A collapsed fuel hose?
I have (2) Hd'6s. They are a great tractor.

I cant believe I didnt think of that!!! I had that happen on a D4 CAT ... migtht be something else but thats a great place to start...THANKS for jar'en my brain loose

I'd check out the simple things mentioned above first, but since the PO has had the pump off I'd check out the timing. Sounds like the timing is too high. Either way, don't take anything for granted.
