HD16 reverse rippers

       hello I'm new on this site this is all new to me . I purchased an HD 16m m for military. I am looking for reversing rippers for my machine Really need some because has no rippers at all ? if anybody has any to sell or has one of the reversing ripper shanks maybe they can send me some dimensions or a drawn out layout on a cardboard I'll pay shipping. I have all the books for this machine shop manuals parts manual maint manual original from factory so if anyone out there needs any info let me now . I'm going to change motor oil for first time since I've owned it is 15/40weight  ok for this 16000 turbo engine. I also use Lucas in all my engines.  Will this help or harm an older engine. Thanks for any input

	I have been searching for the same ripper shanks for quite some time with no luck. Find plenty of military machines but the shanks are always missing. I'm working with a cutting edge manufacturer to see about getting some made up.

	Toward the end of the manufacturing on large crawlers, we put 15-40 in the motors. Several of the coal mines around the country put the same oil in steering and transmissions to standardize on oil. 15-40 works great in most diesels.
	Like them all, but love the "B"s.

	Hi, UMFINC. You may find that pin-retained ripper shanks from a grader ripper (NOT the 'scarifier' shanks) or a small to medium track loader ripper - even a Cat D4-sized, or thereabouts, dozer - would do what you want if you weld brackets to the back of the blade to allow them to trail when you are pushing forward and swing down to rip as you reverse. If my (aging) memory serves me rightly, with most of the reversing rippers, you had to lift the blade a little to allow the shanks to swing down, then lower it as you reversed to get them to penetrate.
