My left steering brake had a wonderful bungee cord acting as a return spring. I think that Earl Scheib owned this thing before I did.
Those springs are fairly stout and I can't see a way of getting enough leverage on a replacement spring to get it into place. Aside from putting on a new bungee to replace the one that broke, is there a better fix? Or is there a trick to getting that spring on? |

the easiest way I have found to attach a stout spring is to hook one loop of the spring in place the loop a length wire a couple feet long to other end and then you can pull the spring with quite a bit of leverage

I actually have a truck air brake return spring set of pliers, works great for these as mine on the 7G are similar.

I'll see if I can track down a set of those pliers.. If not I'll try the wire trick..
