I have been posting lots of questions here and I appreciate all of the answers and assistance from many of you.
I thought I'd take a minute and post a pic of my dozer. I bought this, candidly, without knowing as much as I should have. Since I found a few busted rollers, only after getting it home, it's been sitting since I unloaded it. My wife now uses that fact as a way to win any argument about any subject: "oh yeah well you bought a dozer that has cleared zero land" or something to that effect. The previous owner, based on what I have learned in the last 2 months, was more clueless than I was and I believe that he was once an employee at Earl Scheib. So I have spent time undoing some of his used-car-lot style work (bungee cords replacing return springs or notice the great "HD 11" sticker made out of electrical tape and lots of duct tape in the oddest places). I would not be surprised to find manure being used as the foam padding in the "re-upholstered" seat.. My new rollers will be here next week thanks to Trevor and I look forward to getting this on the ground again. I have been putting off all other maintenance until I was sure I could get this rolling again. A full fluid/filter change is up next as well as a cleaning on the right steering clutch. The dozer seems strong and starts immediately every time. |

my dad had one exactly like that back in the 80s my uncle bought it new in I think 1961 that machine cleared a lot of ground the only reason dad sold it was it was so hard to haul and you had to get a permit each time it was hauled were the hd6 was easy to move

Don't feel badly, took over a year for me to get down in the dirt with my 7G. Had steering issues, brake issues, hydraulics issues then it developed even worse transmission slippage but I did manage to get some work before I got the donor to destroy for spare parts.
I hope to have the donor trans I mine this winter and be running at a better clip come spring. |

Yep, had one just like it- there is a photo of it on the "crawler pictures" post. Worst part of those old tractors is the oil clutch wants to drag all the time- hard to shift until the oil gets hot. (You have to be quick on the gear shift, and 1st reverse is hopelessly slow for most dozing. I wish they would have had 2nd F and 2nd R line up.)

I have one just like it with a ripper on the back, it will likely become a parts machine to another "11" I have. Yours looks pretty straight overall!
