I want to start fixing my hydraulic leak. it is leaking at the fitting on the inside of the frame on the left side near dash panel. normal wrench wont work. Whats the name of those wrenches needed and would anyone know the size of fittings. I'm guessing 1 1/8 or bigger. thanks norm

Crowfoot wrenches and/or double offset open end wrenches. Crowfoot are set up for either 1/2" or 3/8" drive. To simplify when you take the old ones out save yourself some grief, remove the hose by splitting the sleeve or sleeve nut and breaking away with a chisel. May have to split on opposing sides with a cutoff wheel in a hand grinder. Most of the time the threads of the fitting will have taken a 'set' and will need more than a crowfoot to break it loose, removing the sleeve will allow using a socket, use a six point.

I take an long open end wrench and heat it on the open end and bend it on a tight 90 degrees. you can slide it on the nut and use big adjustable wrench to turn the bent one. I have a John Deere 450 c loader and that is about the only way to get some of the hoses in the frame arms out.

Hermann, Gasconade County is wonderful. My US ancestry started in Gasconade county in the 1800s.
I bought the less expensive set knowing I would have to slightly alter(round corner, trim ends) for what I needed: http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200012174_200012174 Edited by DMiller - 11 Mar 2017 at 7:33pm |

I did the same thing as Randaleky did, after I broke a crows foot.
