Excavate 2-3 ft. Fill with stone. Cover with gravel. Will not move ever.

FYI, If you google map Rogers City MI and switch to satellite view you can see the quarry. The primary crusher was installed back in the 40's (I think) and was built by non other than Allis-Chalmers |
Don, didn't realize that's where Millersburg was. Been near there many times, but not quite right there. You aren't all that far away from me. |
Where are you located? If you ever through the 'burg just let me know. |
I'm down toward Tawas / West Branch sorta. Used to be up your way a LOT when the kids were younger. Hockey and Softball took me all over the place. I miss those days for the most part........but I can remember $750 per month in gasoline too, can't imagine what it would cost now the way things are going. |
I used to run parts in that area many times. 55 out of West Branch into Tawas to Bolen Asphalt. Not to mention all my stops in and around the WB area. Stopped and drove through the back lot of Willard's many times

| “Old” Mr Bolen’s wife was a classmate of my dad’s. That place has supplied a LOT of pavement in this half of the state for sure. Not sure what’s up with Willard’s. I’ve heard it’s for sale. I’ve heard they aren’t really a New Holland dealership anymore, but yet they had new units when I was looking for a mower, so…???

You asked a question and many of us were civil enough to give you an honest answer and then you respond with a snarky post! As my dear father used to say about certain individuals of a category I now associate you with who couldn't pour water out of a boot if the directions were on the heel!

I got the black fabric put down and then put 3-4" of 3/4" road stone over it. We've had loaded semi's, loaded feed trucks, farm tractors, loaded farm trailers on it. Its held up just fine.

I still sell them parts as their fleet is still Kenworth, However the last "Bolen" I ever dealt with was Jerry and he retired.
Used to stop at Jefferson Trucking at the Gypsum plant in National City (the metropolis that it is LOL). Plant is still there but the trucking company has long since been bankrupt.
Last I knew Willards was still NH, but its been years since I walked in the door. Not even sure if the Wangler family is still involved??

Willard's so, this is some of what I hear, some of what I know! A rather large dairy nearby to me bought a New Holland self propelled chopper. And Willard's isn't able to service it because something about they aren't a certified dealer. Around the same time, the scuttle butt was that New Holland was doing the same thing as Deere was, if you weren't a "big enough" dealership, the pulled your dealership agreement. A neighbor of mine took a tractor in for service, and they wouldn't work on it, saying they were for sale and didn't want to take in any projects like that. Which, I found extremely hard to believe. Yeah, it was an old POS tractor, but still, I couldn't believe they would say that to anyone and treat somebody like that. Never verified this. Jerry Wangler is still involved, at least a couple weeks ago when I talked with him on the phone. The story goes he is retirement age and the next generations aren't interested. He said he could still sell me a brand new NH discbine. I don't ever see new New Holland tractors, just Kubotas. But I don't drive up that way unless I really need to because it isn't on the way to anywhere I go anymore! I really wish I knew the whole true story. Oh well.
