Got got my '52 CA going Sunday. Runs strong and everything seems to work like it should (except the @%#% generator so far). Got a few little things to get squared away and a little tuning to do, it wants to dog out and jump a little in 4th gear, but I'm happy with it so far.
My grandson sure seemed to like it. |

Looks good. Much better than the first time we saw it. Good luck with it, and keep the grandson on it as much as you can. I spent a lot of time on a C with my grandad when I was a little fella. Makes for some good memories later.

I probably scraped and washed off 100lbs or more of crud, grease and mud dauber nests.

Ahh a pin hitch CA. What's the serial number? I have Dads 51 #669. I have the angle iron cultivator mounts and the front cultiv mount. I also have the 2-14 plow the 6' disc he got for the C, a 5 ft sickle mower and the 2 row cultivator.

Tractor # is CA 11282, the engine was replaced some time in it's life R14620G.
I'm planning on putting a 3 pt. on it. Pin hitch implements are kind of scarce around here and my uncle only had a 2 bottom and a 3 bottom plow with the pin hitch, everything else he had was pull type stuff. |

Which reminds me, I saw what was either a CA or maybe a small D-series on the way up to Rome GA yesterday. Couldn't tell much about it. It was under a metal carport and had a blue tarp covering most of it. Did notice it had some pretty heavy-duty rear wheel weights. If I finish up in time tomorrow, I might ride back down that way and have a closer look.

That's pretty neat. Is that shop built or store bought?

Everything is from a Cross Manufactured 3 pt. except for the horizontal cross member holding up the bail, it was home made, I dont' know who made it I bought it from Leon B. It Bolts to the sides of the final drives, works really well. I don't think anyone is making a 3 pt that will bolt right up the pin hitch tractors. I can take some close ups tomorrow if you would like to see it better. Ron

I'd appreciate that.
I've been looking at the ones shown on OKtractors website but I don't have the funds yet. |

The 3 pt from OK Tractor will work, you'll just have to fabricate a cross member to hang the drawbar bail.

Thanks for posting those pics Ron. I had to go out and look at the finals on mine to see if it had the bolt holes (It does). I can see what I'll need to make it work for me.
I've got permission to scrounge my late uncles junk piles, I'll have to see what I can find. Edited by Larry in OK - 02 Apr 2010 at 11:52pm |
