Darn I hate shopping, but I got to meet a couple of great folks today. Old gal made up her mind to buy a couple of new recliners today. I figured it would be like normal, we'd stop at every store in a 5 county area. We stopped at Cohen's furniture store in Creston Iowa today and bought 2 new ones. The had over 500 recliners in stock. It was almost too many to look at. Every thing marked down compaired to the hugh stores in Des Moines. These folks were fantastic. Gonna deliever them next week.

Glad to hear your helping keep the money from molding in a mason jar out backWink.

My Wonderfull is having her birthday tomorrow so I needed to shop too.She said something to inspire my brain this morning. But the water pump is out on my go to town wagonConfused, so I called the youngest an he was agreeableWink. Best shopping trip I ever hadLOL. I don't mind doing comparison shopping for best price or quality, but just going store to store looking for that special thing you didn't know you are looking is crazy.  My daughter as a teen said let me help you buy mom something, so off we go. I asked where and what she had in mind, "we will go to the mall and look until we find it". The one and only time I did it that way.

Ray, that day you learned the difference in women and men shoppers!

Always wondered if those lift recliners have a "launch" button?

We were gonna buy one of those self rizers for my 96 year old mom but she threw a. Fit about it. She said my grandpa had one and the darn thing launched him out into the middle of the living room floor. That was 40 years ago. She doesnt know how slow they are. They had them there but at $1200.00 each we decided to pass. I have seen them on Craig's list barely used for $200.00. I guess my old one is gonna be set outside for the dogs to sleep on. Its well over 20 years old material is worn slick in several places. Was OK for me till last fall. I seem to be sitting on a steel rod. Hers is a matching chair but it sit in a room we didn't use for the first 15 years, I guess its going in the family room in the basement. Grandso is gonna stay here for 2 years while he attends Jr college in Creston Ia.

Buying new furniture is a whole challenge for me. We can walk for hours looking for a suitable one, but we never buy anything. My wife takes a very responsible approach to every purchase of furniture and therefore every time I listen to an hour-long monologue on why we really need this furniture. Last time we tried to choose a new sofa as quickly as possible since there was nowhere to sleep and ended up spending a few days on it. After a long search, we eventually stumbled upon https://nyfurnitureoutlets.com/bedroom-furniture/filter-turquoise and ordered a great sofa there. FINALLY!

i love shopping...if i can go by myself! we retired my old (comfy) recliner about 3 years ago, and bought a lift chair, hoping it would help me with the way my legs are. it does and it's the most comfy recliner i've ever sat in. i love the way i can set it any position i want! the old lady....oooops....i mean the loving wife used it a few times and liked it so much we went and bought her one just like it too! the reason we like them is not so much it lifting us up to enter/exit, but to put it where we are comfy and it stays there until we push a button to move it. i did have a switch go out on mine and the store we bought it at got in a new one, sent 2 guys along with the switch, they drove n25 miles one way, installed the switch and the chargen was $63.00! and it was out of warranty.

My sister was very sick and near the end.  She had a problem and when the EMS were done her recliner was a mess.  I decided I'd buy her one of those fancy lift recliners,  Her Dr. said no.  The regular electric recliner was fine, but she needed to get up on her own.  This was to keep her a little more active having to stand up on her own.  Made sense to me.

Wife's Mom's neighbor got to where could not get up or down, bought a Lift Chair, dead in less than 3 months.  Chair donated to another friend, again dead in less than three months.  Chair finally got sent to the dump, called it the Chair Of Death!!!  NOBODY would accept or claim it.

I must have set in a dozen different recliners in that store. All the Same brand before I found 1 that was comfortable to me. And I am setting in it now. Now that I have retired from earning a wage, I seem to spend a lot of time in it. TV/VCR is about 12' across the room, phone is on a table to my right along with a snack for later, wood stove is on me left, snow is shoveled, gonna boil up a big old pot of soup for lunch, got the soup mix from Menard's, my new router table fence is on the table waiting on me to take it back out to the shed, that might happen today or later in the week. And then I gotta go outside and feed some stinking chickens, probably 2 dozen of the dam things and usually get 3 eggs this time of year. That excursion usually cuts into my nap time. Oh well!

I hate furniture shopping. Last year I told my accountant I was ready for new sofas. So go look for something you like and then come get me. Had it down to three. Took more time to choose color than the actual sofa. Now we need dining chairs.
