 Topic: Got awesome news about a young man today

A lady Danielle used to teach with has a son with trisomy 21 (Down syndrome). We have heard him play guitar and sing and he's just the most awesome young man you'll ever come across. We got news this morning that he is in Germany preparing to compete in the Special Olympics! I've never known an Olympian before but I'm proud to say I do now. I don't want to give his name because I don't know how his folks would feel about that but you better believe we'll be watching for him and cheering him on. He's competing in kayaking

Best wishes for that young man and safe travels for him and his family, wow the memories they are creating, he will have the best story to tell of how he spent his summer when school starts back up.

Tyler, I'll be watching and cheering him on. With the info you gave us, I can figure out who he is.... It's amazing how they can do just about anything they take a mind to and I can't spit right...

He just walked in the stadium. We didn't find him on the TV but got a panoramic picture of the stadium from his mother. They're sitting 7 rows back and are both VERY emotional. I can't imagine what it's like but I guarantee it's awesome

Prayers that this young man will be successful. Going to the Special Olympics is quite an accomplishment. I know his Mom and Dad are super excited and very proud of him.

Caleb had his first qualifying race in tandem kayak this morning. They won the race by .17 seconds. It's my understanding he'll be racing for gold tomorrow

Caleb won a silver medal in tandem kayak!! I can officially say I know an Olympic medalist! I think he has another event coming but I'm not sure. I'll keep everybody posted
