I want to try my K harvesting beans for the first time.
My K came with a Chaffer and an adjustable Sieve, no screens. Will I need a screen rather than the lower sieve to get a clean crop of beans? If so, does anyone have any screens for a K they would sell?
The manual calls out for round holes 5/16 - 7/16 in the screen.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Kraig - my EIII is the same as an early K, I've done beans with mine without any screens. I just set the adjustable chaffer & sieve as needed and off I went without problems. Mike

you have the necessary screens the chaffer will control what goes into the bin and the bottom will control unthreshed material going to the return

Don't be afraid of a few pods in the sample and you'll be fine. The adjustable chaffer and sieve are adequate.Follow the settings in the book for starters and tweak it from there.
