Gleaner models "E" or "E-3" has the same HEIGHT head as any legit D-17 and the same length pushrods. Sooo your D-17 must have had a WC/WD head on it by someone which is about an inch shorter. Head bolts are different too.

Pushrods are the same on all the engines.  The only difference in valve train from tall to short head was the rocker stands.  You need the tall head stands which are shorter.  Anything from a WD45 and newer will work.  Like Dr said, you'll also need the tall head bolts as well as the shorter valve cover.
