I think KS meant corn/soybean special but why a K instead of a C I don't know but then again I am just guess completely anyhow.

Does it have a blower on the right side  of the engine?May mean sidehill.
I am in the house and wont be past my combines  till chores tomorrow. I'll check the s/n of my 72 sidehill and 69 standard.
Both my combines  are just G 77** for the 69 and G22*** for the 72.

Our '79 F2 starts FKS and has never had a blower on it.

Ours is FKS41883V  '79 model year according to original owner and dealer info in check list in manual.

I was mistaken, there is no "S" in the serial number, I believe that was on the old straight F. Sorry Embarrassed

that number makes it last year (72)of production according to Norms book prviding I read it correctly.I'll double check that number when I have the book and the number together.

If I read it right,G started in 68 with # 1001.Last year (72) started w/# 21001

To the best of my memory KS was corn soybean - they just always used K for corn - no one knows why that I can find - without insulting someone :-) the Hydro versions - again my memory - we SN as GHY or G-HY. Later they stamped the letter V or H at the end of the SN to designate Variable speed drive or hydro.

Someone who has a Corn Plus might post their SN... KS versions had things like heavier feeder beaters, some VS header drives, different speeds on some sprockets - roller chain vs ag link etc.   I do know ordering combines used to take a ling time writing up a T-49.
When told "it's not the money,it's the principle", remember, it's always the money..
