 Topic: 720 Deck Color

I just acuired a 720 and am trying to restore it. The deck on it is white in color and I have seen a few before that were painted orange. Can someone tell what color it should be or did they do both?

Depends on the year I think. 76 or so it changed to orange

Thanks Charlie, I thought mine is a 1973 but not for sure. These are the numbers on the side but have not found out for sure what year it is. Allis
Chalmers 720 Serial and ID numbers.

There is no way to track the year through the serial number on these tractors. 620s had white decks, but most 720 decks I've seen are orange.

720 special was orange deck,a cheaper 720 where pto hour meter 3 pt where optional,otherwise a white deck is your standard 720,i have a 720 special that had the orange deck 3pt,and pto,but no hour meter

Thanks for all who responded. I sure am learning a lot about these old 720's. You would think there would be a way to find out the year they were made. I found a Simplicity that looks like my 720 except it has a different style hood (white in color) and the deck on it is orange. Are they worth about the same as the Allis model?
