you never know about even realy new mowers (riders) if they get get a flat tire or braek down in the back yard alot of people dont have  a way to move it or know how especaily if it is a hydro then it sits till the seat is ruined paint is faded so they finallly just want to get rid of it and have some box store deliver them a new one.   lots of the time its just one small thing that made it quit .
