i want to get the engine bored out on my allis chalmers b-12 engine since they don't make the oversized pistons for it any more and i was wondering if anyone else had there engine bored out and what measurements i would need to send it to a machine shop  to bore it out to a 14hp?

all you haft to do is tell the shop man what you want an he should know what piston size you need to get 14 horse or more. he can order you a rod an the right piston an head gasket'' good luck. hope it works good.

call around an check on a new piston an rod with rings cost ask the shop man what hes got to have to bore 1 hole an add it up an you should be close to cost a little larger piston cant be but a few bucks more if any

Machining prices and parts prices vary widely. Do you want to use B&S parts or aftermarket? My local guy gets $30 to bore a 1 cyl, $35 to turn a single cyl crankshaft, $25 to do the valves and lap them int, $10 to surface the head, while some large shops might not want to even touch a job like this. Since your taking so much more out of the bore in this case, there may be additional cost.
