 Topic: Painting underside of deck

What do you guys use for paint on the bottom of the decks? I recently blasted my deck and want to put something on the bottom that stays. I figured I would use an oil based primer, then paint. Was told to paint, then wait a week then cover it with slip plate. Also told by an old guy to paint the underside with Meyers snow plow paint as it is real durable. Mow about 2 acres a week with it. 60" deck

I wonder if 'rhinoliner' or whatever it's called would be good to use. The stuff they coat pickup beds with, sometimes the frames,wheelwells,etc.

Glyptal - is used as electrical insulation material for painting winding in motors to prevent electrical shorts - also used to seal pipe joints and such - good properties . but unsure of slipperiness. Might work fine.

Have it powder coated. Seams to be pretty durable.

there is a spray-on "TEFLON" coating that works great,but you need to clean and re-coat it every year. i bought a new mower once and the dealer coated the bottom of the deck with it for me, but i cant remember what its called.

Right, I hauled it for GE years ago before they sold it off to another company. This stuff can go right on clean bare metal and it doesn't come off. A lot of racing engine builders coat the inside of engines with it to keep oil from sticking to the rough cast iron. Makes a nice smooth surface almost like a plastic coating.
