How well do they work? Deep snows like yesterday makes me wish for a thrower as some of these places I do have little room to pile snow up.

I'm not sure what you mean by a GT snow thrower, but I've got a snow thrower on a 611 LTD that I am pretty sure will also fit on a 811GT that I also have. If that's what you mean, I can post some pictures of it from the last snow we had. The thrower on my 611 LTD works pretty good for a single stage.

I assume he means anyone with a garden tractor (GT). I have read on the Simplicity forum about the 36" being better than the 42" from a throwing distance standpoint. They also do better with more snow running through them. I hope to have a blower for my B10 next winter. I'll use my B110 with a 46" blade to windrow the stuff then blow it away.

Yep, Garden Tractors.
Something like a 917 Hydro..... A gear drive I would be worried about slipping the clutch to much.
The self propelled throwers it seems like the guys are fighting them (Like a tiller) to get them to go where they want to or not getting enough traction.
My luck I would buy something and then we don't get any good snows for years

I have a 917 H and a snow thrower for it, plus tire chains. It works very well with the hydro. I believe it's a 42". I wear a full face grinding shield when using it. Don't use it much any more as we spend most of our winters in Florida.

I have one on my 810gt, only problem I have found is the thrower does not like wet heavy snow will plug up the shut if feed too fast. the deeper the snow the further it thrus snow.
