I'm looking at a D17 industrial with a backhoe. Can anyone tell me how high the loader can lift? I have a 200 with a 500 loader would the 17 with the industrial loader lift any where near as high? the loader appears to be heavier duty than the 500.
I haven't seen the tractor in person yet but the pictures look good. I asked if it has a shuttle clutch or power director and he says it doesn't have either. Is that right? how capable is the D17 as a backhoe tractor? It will be for farm use.

I've had one of these, the loader lifts high enough to load a dump truck with 8' high sides. Mine had the forward reverse shuttle but it is a smaller lever unlike the farm tractor, I've never heard that any were made without this option. My feeling is that this model is OK for general use for yourself. What I missed the most was the torque converter for loading, to get a full bucket is a balancing act between stalling the engine or spinning the tires. I have an A-C 816 backhoe loader and it is twice the machine in most respects. Best wishes on your backhoe shopping.
