I have a erratic leak on the 7040,every now and then it will start leaking oil out the steering column onto the the floor then stop and not leak a drop for another few weeks or more,it makes a helluv a mess and i have kit for it but wondering as how it stops leaking that maybe the priority valve is sticking now and then and over pressuring it. Is this something that can happen?

Just reseal the steering orbitrol. It's probably never been done before. Don't tear the whole thing apart. Just replaced the dust seal, quad seal and one Oring on the top.
