I am trying to replace left lift arm shaft seal. Got seals from agco. I can not get the OD of the seal to all go into the housing. I’ve tore 2 seals trying. And they are $50 a seal. I have knocked the shaft out so it exposed the smooth area past the splines. Has anyone had this issue? It’s not a o ring it’s a cup type seal. It seems it’s just to big. But in my part book on Allis it’s the right part number agco adds a 70 in front of the number if they changed it. But any install info much appreciated. I’ve tried slowly working in with Blunt brass bar , pushing edge in as I go. Can get 60-70% in them it pops the other side out. I’ve tried to upload the picture but said it’s too large . Not sure how to change format of a picture . Any info appreciated!! Thanks

I don't remember a 185 having a seal like that. They were always a thick O-ring that fit in a groove. Have you dug out the old seal?? What style was it ??

To shrink a picture:
Locate the file on your computer.
right click the picture and select edit. This will open the photo in the Paint application
Click the resize button.
Select the option Pixels, make sure that the option Maintain Aspect Ratio is checked
Enter 800 as the hozontal size, the vertical size will fill in automatically
Click OK and save your photo.
Now you have a small photo you can upload to the site
