I need to remove the shifter and build up the knob on the end. Can it be removed from the top. The detents and springs seem to be ok but the end is worn and slips out of the track.

I was able to get the handle out of the top with ease. I don't remember what I did with the reverse lock out, but had to remove the top to get it all back together. Not difficult, but time consuming. Hardest part of I remember was aligning the forks with the tank still in place. Fix the grooves and replace the pins while open. Make the wc fun to shift again. Others may have different experience. My dad rebuilds these shift towers. He can fix the end of the lever, the rack it rides in and the pin and grove it pivots on. We have extra parts to replace anything that's missing inside. You'll have to ship the complete tower to us for the repair, we do not have rebuilt units on hand to swap out. Shoot me a message if you're interested and I'll send you his number.

Thanks for the information, I really don't care about paying shipping from AZ plus paying your dad, which I'm sure would be worth it if I wanted to put that much into the tractor. I will get some parts machined locally and see what I can do. Thanks again maybe in the end I will get back with you.
