Hey all first time poster! I have a b210 and been having issues getting spark.
so far I replaced the points condensor and coil but still can't seem to get it to spark. The coil was a stens 460-006 but I'm worried I may have purchased the wrong one or something.

I believe I have the timing right the magnet on flywheel lines up with coil when the breaker opens but I could be doing something wrong.

Got the tractor for 50 bucks at an auction and when you jump the starter she turns over but still can't get spark. I'd love to save this tractor but my knowledge of older equipment is limited.

That ignition system is grounded to shut it off. Any bare spot between the junction down at the points cover can kill your spark. When you replaced coil did you make sure small wire from coil going out to points had not rubbed through insulation? A good way to start is remove the wire going up to key switch, that will take that wire, and the switch out of the equation. If it happens to start you will need to ground out the spark plug, or ground from the connection at point cover.

I'll check it this morning the coil had 2 small wires that were bolted to where the coil mounts and the longer black wire that goes to the points so I'll go through it. The two smaller wires can they bith be grounded at the same spot or do they have to be separate?

That's the coil I bought for it the smaller wire was on one of the bolts for coil black wire I assume goes to points?

The small wire with the black insulation would go to the insulate stud above and to the left of the actual coil. Verify that stud still has the insulation to keep it from being grounded. I will try to get a pic showing an original in place. Is that the original engine, not a replacement that could be newer with electronic ignition (has actual breaker points/condenser)?

The stud looked like it had other wires connected to it I figured it was a ground so I extended the wire and ran it right to where the points breaker goes there's a stud inside where the condensor wire is I figured they had to be connected (totally new to the older engines) as far as I can tell this is original to the tractor

Here's how I have it set up
Going to check timing of the points breaker opening up in reference to coil and magnet on flywheel I do have a old manual for setting up the timing so that should help me there.as long as my wiring setup is correct

Assuming that blue wire in picture goes all the way to the insulated coil wire, you will not have a way to shut it off. If you want to leave it that way for testing its fine. Eventually you will want to hook blue wire to the screw on the insulated tab outside of the point cover (in order to complete circuit to ground when you turn key off). The air gap between coil and magnets in flywheel should set at .012". Best way is if you have 2 of the correct size feeler gauges, on under each leg of coil. Line coil up with magnets, then tighten screws.

Okay I used a business card to set the coil and for now for testing I'll leave the blue wire hooked direct. Would a bad starter solenoid cause no spark? The one I have now is definitely bad I was jumping the positive wire to get it to spin over to test for spark before I threw any more parts at it.

Starter has no effect on spark, unless it is spinning very slow.

When the engone is at top dead center and points starting to open looks like the magnet on flywheel isn't in line with the coil. I'm going to try to adjust that and go from there.
