Looking at a I60 forklift, would make an offer if it can be hauled on my trailer with a 1/2 ton.  Sketchy I'm sure but it's 4 hours away so would be pricey to have it hauled.  Anyone have specs for weight of the unit?
It's basically a D15 with the forklift attachment.  Tractor data says a D15 is about 2 tons.
My pickup will handle up to about 4 tons, so if the forklift frame is 1000 to 1500 pounds it might be possilble.

What  size forklift is on it? The 60 and 600 series forklifts came with multiple options that would factor into the overall weight  as AC marketed the 60's and 600's with  10' 14' and 21' lifts.  Also the counterweights on the back of the machine had optional box and weight sizes. Can you post a pic?  ~ Orangeman  Edited April 19, 2024

All of the options above would make a difference in the overall weight and thus the trailer selected to carry the dead load of the machine safely.

you have two problems, weight and balance ! I bet it's close to 6000 #s,
I hauled a small Thomas loader that maxxed out the 'car hauler' trailer  behind my F150. getting going was slow, 50MPH was  a tad fast and stopping, well, let's say I made it home in one piece.Had great roads, no rain and 'only' a one hour WIDE AWAKE trip ,mid day.

Whoever said 'getting there is 1/2 the fun' never, ever hauled heavy !!

One option ? See if someone's hauling a flat deck TO that area and will bring forklift home ? I'm thinking $500 would be a fair price ??

I would not worry so much about the truck... I think the capacity of the trailer and loading as Jay said is the bigger problem... If your TRAILER can handle it and you load forward of center, it would be OK.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Usedta haul the D15 around with a car trailer pulled by an Isuzu NPR.  was all it wanted to haul it.  I'd play it safe and find someone with a bigger truck to haul a forklift with a counterweight.  Might be cheaper, in the long run...Wink

I dithered about this long enough that someone else picked it up.  Probably for the best.
