Thanks again Steve. Impressed with how good our little friend runs. It rained here to day, thus, will put her to work next weekend. However, did run until hot and then adjusted timing for a smooth running engine. Here is another link if interested.

Finally was able to put our "little orange friend" to work. Ran spectacular and did not drop out and misfire after warming up.

With the rain these past weeks, some of the sand had washed down and into the lake. This despite all the catch basins and drain tile we have put in.

With the CA and blade and harrow, was easy to pull up the sand from the water edge to fill the ruts and regrade.

However, I didn't take a single picture.... FAIL!

After tightening up the final drive with repairs on the hand clutch, it was better, but there was still a clanking when on the road. Thus, as DiyDave mentioned, the "Eccentric Pins" that hold the rim tight keep coming loose.

The shop manual, "...each eccentric pin must be fully turned to the right to be tight." I was not getting them turned fully to the right, thus would keep coming loose quickly when used.

I finally was able get the job done with a 24' cheater bar and a 9/16" Female Plug Socket

This worked awesome to get all the eccentric pins rotated fully to the right. It was not difficult with the cheater and working each one as I rotated the wheel and put each on top.

No clunking on the highway!!! Thanks for all the advice and hints.

Next projects:

   1) Take some the shims out of the PTO shaft and see if that tightens the play in the differential we have on the PTO and pulley. Hope it works as Chris/Sugarmaker was able to do.

   2) Also need to work on the pulley seal which still leaks oil a bit.

CA13414,
Just a note removing the PTO shims did tighten the drive system in the PTO. I ended up replacing the seal and putting the shims back in to allow the PTO to spin easily.

Thanks Chris,

I think I will order a new seal for the PTO and the Pulley. Then remove the shims and hope it tightens up.

Our is so loose, I can hear it when the PTO is engaged to run the hydraulics and 3-point lift.

Just sounds like a gear that is about to jump a tooth and tear up the drive.

Dan
