Don has been gone for several years now but he is another icon in the Allis Chalmers world.
Probably best known for his oil pan instalation instructional video of the Allis 201 and 226 gas engine video.
Available on YouTube if someone could add the link please. I just watched it again last evening.

Don was also known for his expertise on the Buda Diesel engines. I spent many an hour taking notes while talking to him about them.

A man with a wealth of knowledge and he is missed....

I talked to Don quite a few times about Allis engines, and he quiz me on electrical issues. He was a great guy. Tony C. and Don were pretty tight. Sad to see these super knowledgeable guys leave this planet. Hopefully, he's still buildin' Buda engines up there.

Don was as sharp as anyone with gas and diesel engines. I was trying to get him to rebuild my D-17 but he hinted at health concerns ,problems. He claimed he wanted to try and give something back . He and his son Bobby put on 2 seminars/classes on "why won't my tractor run?". I told him that I would go to any class that he put on . He held 2 at his shop and I was at both . Little more technical than expected but learned a few things that I still benefit from today. RIP Don. Thanks for all you contributed to this forum.

Yes, he was a wealth of knowledge and a great asset to this forum and us.  Never got to meet him face to face, but I spent a few hours on the phone with him.  He always was willing to listen and help out.  RIP buddy.

There is a plow day I really regret not making it to! Even if just to watch and chat would have been great.

I met Don at a plow day he had. Good time spent, but it could have lasted much longer, as far as I'm concerned.
My wife Liz even got a ride around the property by "Dad" in his TT truck!
