I don't know the degree of rust and crud in your tank but, I have power washed out many over the years and don't really have to remove it from the tractor. I would recommend driving the right rear wheel up on at least a 4 x 4 block of wood to tilt the tractor forward and to the left just a tad. You'll need to remove the sediment bowl base from the tank. I myself would try to remove the gas gauge. Power wash from the fuel fill neck and the gas gauge hole. Do this several times never allowing more than 2 or 3 gallons of water to be in the tank. Let tank drain while you are power washing. Rotate/tilt the power washer wand to all different angles to hit as much of the tanks insides as you can. Finish was straight water (no soap). Let it dry for a day or two. Compressed air can help getting it fully dried out after it has sat for some time. You will be surprised how clean you can make it doing this.
