Have a TL12. Engine is bad. Can't remove the oil pan as there is no clearance. Not sure how you can pull the engine as you would have the same issue. Does the rear counterweight have to be removed to allow engine to be moved rearward to allow removal? Machine has the WD45 gas engine.

I dont think you can pull the engine without taking the rear section off.  i did on mine,  left the top braces on and pulled it out.

Do you mean the radiator and rear grill or the rear weight and axle bolster as well?

axle does not need to come out.  remove the heavy iron that holds radiator in 1 piece.  take the cast grill out first.  I got both with a cherry picker, nothing special except 4 big bolts on bottom and bolts on upper braces at the rear going to radiator section.  no need to remove the braces at the front.  converter stays in trans housing,  engine has a splined coupler will slide right out after 8 flywheel plate bolts.  again no need to remove rear axle or weight/hitch.

Another question, Do you remove the rear lift cylinder pins so cylinders can be left on the machine?

yes, I left my cylinders attached to the rod end so the barrel ends will just hang down out of the way.
