Kenworth is still moving forward, waited until last week for a State Inspection for License as is good for 60 days, can then be licensed in late Jan when weather generally is NOT so good. Even contacted our local Police where they said fine to run thru town and thanked me for calling them prior where would not be stopped for no plates. BTW Passed just fine for State. Main reason to wait is expense of 48BL Missouri Tag to go on it(48,000 lb license good for beyond 150miles), currently $704/year, 54BL was well over $800 so opting for the lower as will still cover truck and a trailer with some Farm Equipment on it.
Got a DOT inspect as a JIC/CYA conditional, those inspections have gotten far more severe than when I was performing them, have to replace the Push Pull MV3 valve in the dash, slow on response to pressure drop from open line or glad hand, a burnt out bulb on ABS when cycles at initial key on(Specialty lamp size), and the steering column u-joints had 'detectable play'. All pieces will be here this next week then return to shop for inspection sticker and pass sheet. Labeling shop is coming up with colors and locations for name. city, weight and NOT FOR HIRE for the machine, not gotten a call back yet. Wife still has not found her preferred 5th wheel camper as yet, but IS Looking. Weighed truck low on fuel at local quarry, 19,340.

Worth it overall as get multi duty of the truck and a Write Off for Farm Use!!! Cannot functionally write off a RV.

Got parts today, MV3 is in, not without Battle to get the lines off, then bulb replaced and test but ABS lamp remained on, hit Test Button below dash and got code 2-3, right rear modulator resistance so valve is ordered. Column U-joints will get changed tomorrow.

When you're used to $3000 for 80000lb IRP,it sounds cheap.

Exactly!!
MO does not offer a BL but a Apportioned full Commercial plate for 73280 and 80k, and yes they still offer that outdated bridge formula 73280! The apportion plate is well above affordable unless moving freight, the 48k will be enough to move farm machines but still affordable enough to manage interstate travel as either rv or farm function. |
