I am trying to figure out how a second remote was added to a 160 tractor. It seams they piggy backed onto the first remote valve. I was told there was a service bulletin on how to field install these. Were these bulletins sent out to all AC dealers? Does anyone have a copy of this service bulletin? I have found a remote valve from a parts tractor that only has 1 set of remotes just like my 160. AGCO parts book shows the second remote valve with the same part number as the first. Not sure if any other parts besides the lines are needed. I have had no luck finding a parts tractor with 2 sets of remotes. Our 4 basket Tedder requires 3 remotes so that is my reason for adding them. My 190 and the 6060 do a fine job running it but the 160 would be more fuel efficient.

Interesting Dave. If I can’t find original I may look into it. I like staying original if at all possible. Still interested in how service bulletins were sent out and if anyone kept them? Just tying to get this figured out if the valve bodies just bolt together.

Lol, Steve your right, but at $5.39/gal here locally, every bit helps. It’s just another tractor I can use on the Tedder if the other 2 are tied up. My D17, WD, our D15 don’t have the capability. I put a lot of cash into the engine overhaul last year and just want it to be as versatile as possible. It’s a fun tractor to run. Solved the problem today, my brother Charlie found a 6040 in salvage with all the factory components I was looking for. They removed them and shipped them this afternoon. Even threw in a good transmission screen/filter that was in good condition that is NLA. It was a great day, for once I finally got what I wanted and everyone won’t have to hear me whine about my little 160 not having 4 remotes lol.

The brakes work great, just a little foot pressure is all that is needed. I took them apart and cleaned everything. Far different than the long foot stroke of a D series and pressing hard to lock up a brake lol. Just means you need to run it more Charlie to get used to them. I’m used to them and find them far superior to the D series. And I can repair them easily since they are mounted outside the transmission housing like our XT’s and not inside.

2.7GPH for the 160, 4 GPH for the 6060, and 5.7 GPH for the XT. At todays fuel prices that’s a considerable difference over a season of hay production.
