Which Gleaner heads use the counterbalance weights? I have only seen them on the 15 ft. Thanks. Dale

Generally, the only right hand counterweights ever used were on Gleaner rotary combines, because the feeder house is offset to the right. Earlier 200 and 300 series had hydraulic reel pumps and tanks out there, but then some started getting a some weights too. Then, in later 80's/early 90's the reel drive pumps went away, so more counterweights were added.  I think some may have even been an option. I've seen them on 15-16-and 20 ft heads for sure, but again makes a difference what year they were. Any counterweight is better than none to help balance things better.

Any Rotor 300/500/800/8000 head will need the weights unless it has the Reel Pump on the right end where the weights would go.

And the reel pump still performs better if it too has SOME weights added. That reel pump/tank isn't 100 lbs.
