what has to be done to repalce the cylinder belt that broke  shop manual was been  borrowed out and not returned  new belt has been ordered by the customer

Try and get pressure off the variable speed by bleeding if need be. Take off line and unbolt outer shieve, 8 bolts I think. If it has returns to cylinder you have to take loose bracket with gear box high and low. Slip belt into to cylinder drive and then over bottom drive, then reinstall what was taken off. I hope I explained good enough. It's not too bad to do. They just didn't make enough space up on top drive if it has return to cylinder.

thanks have never worked on any n series or r  nor have i ran one .   if the hydralic line is undone will i be able to push the varible sheave open enought to slip the belt on ?   the 8 bolts is that on the varible sheave or the other one? ,   if its on the varible sheave will i need any seals or o rings ? ,      the  n7  these folks got replaced their mh2 hillside , i told them i wanted to go run it for a binfull or two when i got done   thanks Hud

I think I can remember our man undoing the line and he had 2- 12" long 2"x4". He mitered the 4" sides down the the bevel of the pulleys. Then he drove them into each pulley and spread them apart. Hope this helps.
