I have had Firefox for the longest,,, but lately,,I been noticing that my computor has been slowing down to almost a crawl and getting worse every day..... I tried to do a Deep Scan in Windows 10 and was almost impossible as system waS SO FRIGGING slow to typing one letter at a time,,,waiting a couple of minutes ,,,then type another letter,,,,BS,,!!, I finally uninstalled firefox in Control Panel and it took about 4 hours as something was stopping it from being "UNINSTALLED",,,and then I switched to Microsoft Edge. I then did a "DEEP SCAN" and a Microsoft OFFLINE Scan, then ,,done another DEEP SCAN and was finally able to use the computor. My system is MUCH better now, SO, I ran a Speed test and it is now back to the 50 MBPS I have from my ISP. Anybody else having this problem,,,??

Dropped Firefox several years ago. Windows 10 works much better with Edge. I think they design new operating systems to not be compatible with the older programs.

Zero issues with Firefox (103.0.1(64 bit) on this Win10 PC. Have to ask when was the last time you 'clear recent history' ? I have that setup to clear everything EXCEPT 'active logins' and 'cookies', that way I'm always on this forum(and others) AND I don't loose my banking/business login data, like name and passwords. You should also, 'clean up' the 'cookies list' ! It's probably 1,000s of entries and 99.44% you don't need. I have a 'safe set' (banks +biz ) of 'must have 'cookies that Firefox stores for me. I'm so happy with FF that I have NO desire to use Edge. Jay

I also use Firefox ver. 102.0.1(64 bit) on Win10. Running fast, no problems. I noticed when the ver. 103 update came through, I did have some problems with fonts and appearance. Apparently they made a change to use the windows sizing stuff. I didn't like it and rolled back to ver. 102. Everything is back to normal and running fast. If your other software is running slow then it is not a problem with Firefox. If it is only Firefox then that will be the problem to resolve. UPDATE: ========== With Win 10 you could do a system restore back to an earlier date when you know the system was working properly and that may get your problems solved. Have been runnning CC Cleaner (free version) for couple years now and doing their udpates - you can go in and save cookies you use for sites and it will then delete others and speed up system .
Run Advanced System Care (free version) also and use it for cleanup of things CC Cleanr doesnt catch , IO Bits Mailware Fighter (free version) also running on system . Run Spybot Search and Destroy also as another cleanup and protection besides AVG Virus (Free version) So have most bases covered - then I just added 8 gig, 16 gig now , more RAM also and it has helped speed up system . ( Running Windows 10 64 bit with a AMD A 10 - 4 core processor ) It might be a few years old but it works for me |

Actually,,I'm pretty certain,,my issues started when I tried to install a "new" Canon printer that I had bought at a yard sale. The lady said it was brand new but they could not get it to get "recognized" by their computor and the place they ordered it would not take returns! They sold it for $10 cause they had lost the two cords. I ordered new cords and I had SAME problem as Win10 could not even "see" it! I got into settings and there was NOT a Canon printer there for the system to set it up,,,,HMMmmm??? WTF,,?? So,,I removed the old HP printer, thinking it was the culprit, but didn't make any difference as it STILL could not "see" it. Tried all the other USB ports, nope, nope, and NOPE . Opened "Device Manager" and even tho Canon printer is connected to PC,,,it does NOT show in Device Mgr,,,???? WTF two times,,,, That's when I noticed my PC is going ape-chit and the mouse acts like it is drunk and has slowed down to a crawl and keyboard has also gone to chit!! I quickly disconnect the Canon printer and my mouse and keyboard do not know what to do,,,,THEN,,I cannot access Control Panel because keyboard wants to print one letter at a time with a 30 second delay between each letter!!! I finally gain access to Control Panel and all the downloaded programs listed are OK,,except for FireFox ,which is flickering,,, I try to UNINSTALL but the whole system just freezes up!!!! NOW, I'M really worried!! Then I remember the keyboard is very slow, so I do the one finger typing and after almost 4 hours,,I finally am able to UNINSTALL Firefox,,as soon as that is gone my PC begins to gets back to normal,,,SOooo,,I then do a DEEP SCAN, which takes almost 4 hours and for good measure,,,I do it again,,,!!! I have NO IDEA if there can be a bad azzed bug within a new printer but I went back to the lady I got the printer from and she finally admitted that their daughter had the very same problem with this POS printer!!!!! I have sent a email to Canon International but have not heard from them yet???? Anyone want an almost new printer,,,? I'm now using MicroSoft Edge,,,,,
