Baling hay with the 200, it was purring along like normal. I was stopped dumping a bale and it thumped and died. Got out inspected things. Check oil, good! Got in and cranked it and it spun over faster then normal, no fire. I though first busted crank, hit it again and could see the fan whirling. Timing gears?

I didn’t want to say that but I am sure your right. Had to borrow a Ford 7710 to finish today. Maybe start pulling it apart Sunday. Maybe just do a full overhaul, it is probably past time.

Pulled the front of the engine and didn’t brake the cam but the gear did push off the cam and let it slip.
Since I have to r over the cam and lifters to fix it it might as well be rebuilt. It was as done once back in the late 80’s. Tractor has been used a few hundred hours a year. Has a little blow by and smokes a little but nothing bad.
Who rebuilds these engines that is good? Closer to NE Oklahoma the better.

A real 200 camshaft has a 4 inch long bolt with a big thick flatwasher to retain the gear....
