About 3 years ago I became a member to this forum and loved getting to know people and learn wisdom along the way. I purchased my first tractor, a 7060 back in 2020 and put it to work at the farm. Well the tractor had other ideas, and the tranny went out of it. I loved this tractor and decided to go through the process of getting the transmission rebuilt when others thought I should throw in the towel.
Well after some struggles, the old girl made it back to the farm again the other day. I personally wanted to pay respect to some people and send a shout out to Heitman Tractor Service who did a great job working with me on parts. Thank you for your vast selection of Allis Chalmers parts. Dan for his time, wisdom, and labor helping to overhaul this beast. And finally Dewayne for offering his own wisdom and knowledge and putting another set of eyes on the transmission. I would have never been able to learn and help keep another Allis alive, if it wasn't for this forum. Thanks again to everyone who helped make this happen including Dr. Allis and MAACK. (Apologies if I missed anyone)
This power shift 7060 has been a dream of mine, and it's finally home where it belongs again.

That’s awesome! Congratulations! The 7060 is a great machine, and I’m glad you were able to keep it going. The forum really is invaluable when it comes to making connections for keeping the Allis name alive.

It is easier to throw in the towel and just buy something but so much more rewarding to fix something and breathe new life into a tractor again. The fact you picked an orange one is why we all come to this forum. And much like yourself many of us have enjoyed the shared knowledge here especially from some very experienced people. Bet it feels pretty good to get in and start it up too. Enjoy the ride.

With the money spent on that tractor, it will still run circles around many new ones of that size which cost thousands more! Great save!

I don't believe that I've ever seen a 7060 without a precleaner. Does it have a 7080 aspirator system on it?

 Agreed this is Allis Country. That is all our farm has ever owned. Here is a pic of the air pre cleaner. I too thought that was odd. I thought maybe it's a 7080 front half with a 7060 back half. But I learned that the 7080 had a larger harmonic dampener pulley. This engine does not have the larger pulley. There are also some custom handles made for the levers in the cab that shows the previous owner put his own personal touches to the tractor. It's truly a 7060 but looks like a 7080. I hope to get it on a dyno yet this summer to see what the old girl can do.

That oil cooler set-up looks like a maroon 7060, prior to s/n 6001. Not a 7080 air cleaner. Just a 7060 air cleaner without the above hood snorkel.

Not that it makes any difference, but after looking at the picture again, I think that's a maroon belly repainted black?? It doesn't look to have the black belly cab. Good looking rig regardless. It has a screen over the intake side of the air cleaner, which is good, but the filter is bound to need more frequent servicing without the precleaner. And,as if you haven't spent enough yet,a radiator foam kit will help to keep her running cool.
