Anyone ever used a C transmission with CA final drives on a pulling tractor? Looking to speed up 1st gear some.

That would help for the GRAMPA gear pullers. Myself, I would go with bigger taller tires. It may take trying a few different sets until you find the size that works with your power. What weight class are you pulling in? What have you done to your engine. What speed are you limited to?  The CA LOW gear is way TOO slow to be really useful in classes written by owners of half engine tractors.
I would rather pull in second gear with a slightly enhanced engine and 12.4X24 tires, however this will be too fast the 3MPH for the GRAMPA gear class.
I'll help you in any way I can. A little extra power isn't hard to get and the limit is what you are willing to spend. I've been pulling and winning in the 2500 pound class with a CA for over 30 years and have a turn key CA puller for sale.
REAL pulling doesn't have speed limits.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

170 CID engine. 13.6-38 tires. 3.5 mph speed limit. 2000 rpm limit. just need to be a little faster in 1st gear. 2700 and 3200 lb class.

You've got things covered quite well. I'm guessing that size tire is the biggest you can run for the class? The speed limit hurts the CA in that kind of class. Enough traction is your problem in Grampa gear. I know other will dis-agree, however I would try a longer drawbar with enough weight to hold the nose on the ground first. The C transmission will speed you up a bit, although the final drive ratios are different between the CA or B & C, so you may not get exactly what you are looking for.  Some H3 & HD3 crawlers had a higher speed 1st gear than the CA,D10/12/14/15 and a full set of gears will interchange between them.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
