This afternoon I noticed the grape arbor, grapes were frosted sometime last couple of nights. Or, the neighbor sprayed a real good looking field of alalafa across the road and killed it. That was sprayed 2 weeks ago. Might have a little drift, I sorta doubt it, looks like frost, top leaves are brown, bottom leaves under the top are still green.

Few mornings there was frost on the Pumpkins here
Picked bean field next door was white - but the grass here evidently held some heat so stayed green . Frost on car but it came right off when I went to leave early AM

Was out and about yesterday, some of lowest coldest place had grapes that frost had gone. Wink Looking like a cold winter here if we are getting frost the same time as the places normally covered in "pretty" all winter. LOL

But I did "borrow" a persimmon from a tree in the neighborhood Confused looked closes to the knife. Wink So I should expect be cold all winter. PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Talked with a big wig of one of biggest local vineyards/wineries they are 2 days from done with harvest so no hurry to rut up fields after the rain here.

Got down to 26 on the 15th, 72 later in the day.  Might get some snow next week but not much.  Been a good fall so far.  Be done with my hay by Friday afternoon.

I can't imagine what they would be spraying on alfalfa in the way of herbicides this time of year unless it is seed alfalfa and they hit it with defoliant to hurry it up a bit, it should be about ready to go dormant. The drift from a defoliant would certainly desicate  the leaves on your grapes
