Mike, when I used to stop at Colfax tractor parts any time I priced a part I got the impression that they were mighty proud of their  used parts.

Get it recored at a local shop.  You won't have to touch it again.  The recore for my 175 was around $500, but it needed it!

If you have the original yet, a new core can be made from it

Agreed on radiator recore.( autocorrect does not like that word). If the tanks are good, that is route I'd go. And yes, Colfax is mighty proud of their parts. Could be as much as repairing what you have. IMO

I will try to find a shop that will recore it.  Thanks  Kurt

Yes, they can be high priced. They do have several 170s/175s however. If the machine needs to be up and going it is an option.

We all assume everybody has a radiator shop nearby, I used to have 3 local shops, now the nearest radiator shop to me is 50 miles away.

My old radiator man is in his 70's and has Parkinsons disease. Not sure what I'll when he hangs it up.

If I could find a new core I think that I would try to solder myself.

My radiator guy said there wasn't one available, not like that of a D17.  I took him the old core and he was able to measure it to make a new one.
