My 6080 has a replacement tach with no PTO symbol. The manual says use the tach but doesn't say what PRM. I have been running a 9 foot flail mower at 1700 RPM and it does fine but just wondering where I should run it.
AC 6080 (8030,7060,200,175,D-17HC, 6040,160,6140 all gone) Farmall 1066 & 656 Hi-Clear (for sale), White 2-62 High Clearance, JD 4255 Hi Clear.

Good question so I thought I would get the 6080 out.  Here is the PTO at 546 RPM.

Here is the actual engine RPM.

Here is what the tach says.  Looks like the tach is about 60 to 75 RPM's off, but pretty close.

Thanks for taking the time to do that. Looks like I won't have to run my tractor that hard to cut what I want with it which is good news.

This is the 3rd one I've had.  First one I dropped, and the second one grew legs out of my toolbox.  They are pretty cheap for what it does, 8 to 10$.  It uses a piece of reflective tape on a shaft and when you push test, the beam bounces off that tape.  Can't use it where the sun shines on that tape, just have to shade it.  They come with a foot or so of tape and I only use 1/4" at a time or you can buy those stick on trailer reflectors.  Works good for setting governor speed on the single cylinder lawn mowers also.
