It has worsened here considerably. Even though I am in NY State, we are 6 hours from NY City, right on the Canadian border. We are about 60 miles from Montreal and about the same from Ottawa.

As of yesterday, we have 8 cases in our small rural county (Franklin County, NY).

I had to go to our local store to get some essentials (milk and bread) a couple days ago. There were two guys, probably in their mid 20's in there. Each of them bought a bottle of soft drink!!! I told them how irresponsible they were being (in very colorful language!). After they went out the door (muttering something about what a nice guy I am , I think), the clerk told me that I just missed a mother who brought in her 3 elementary school age kids and bought BS stuff that they really didn't need.

It's people like this that are endangering all of us (especially people my age and above) and prolonging this "distancing" and us being confined to our home.

Soldiers Home news this morning. Unfortunately, nursing homes and Soldiers Homes are most at jeopardy due to the older age of the patients. God Bless them all:

"As of Monday, the Soldiers’ Home located at 110 Cherry Street in Holyoke had confirmed the following:

11 veteran resident deaths (5 tested positive for COVID-19, 5 pending test results, and 1 is unknown)
11 veteran residents have tested positive for COVID-19
25 veteran residents pending test results
5 staff tested positive"

We left the land of warm weather and sunshine 14 days ago, and 48 hours latter we got home, MI. Driving our motor home. And we have stayed home, our daughter has brought us a few groceries.
