I am too old to be fooled, but I got fooled. I thought I had purchased a large
group of A-C manuals and literature for 156 dollars. Sent the money via Mastercard. There are no manuals and my money was withdrawn by the person. His name is DAN LAWSON Do NOT do any business with this guy. He claimed to be employed at Kansas State University. I must say this, however, if there is another Dan Lawson on this site, you must tell us.
The deal seemed almost too good to be true and so it was.
I am really fortunate because Mastercard refunded my money.

Sadly, you and several others got hooked by this pro scammer. Last word was he did the same thing on a vehicle website. Never ceases to amaze me how some are out just to cheat folks, must pay decent for a while, someday, hopefully, somebody will figure him out before he gets away.

i found the ad on the Facebook Allis-Chalmers Implements site. Dan Lawson claimed he was employed by Kansas State University but our bank statement shows that the money was withdrawn in California.
I checked with K-State and they had no one by that name. I corresponded with him on the website through private message. There was supposed to be
80 very old AC manuals and/or literature items, in sleeves, in excellent condition
for 125 dollars plus $30 for shipping which sounded great. When I went back to try to trace the post everything had been deleted.
It is small comfort to know that he has done this before. The post was entirely believable and I do not want to believe that any of my admirable
fellow Allis Chalmers collectors would ever allow something like this to get posted and a scam to happen.

Fifty bucks and an alibi and I find them, but no on else ever will, ever again...
Well, at least I think that's how it should be. Somehow, being a thief no longer brings the same punishment it once did. AND THAT, is the reason why thieves are more abundant and bold today.

I don't think California counts thieft under a certain dollar amount as a punishable crime

If you used the internet and foolsbook qualifies, that fraud is a FEDERAL offence, interstate .. and if he's done it before, should be easy to track. As for getting the FBI or ??? involved...THAT would be the challenge...
