I think you are right about the 5 times in two years for hogs lol. I was thinking its not quite three times a year. I left the hog farm almost a year ago to start my internship/coop. they have 2000 sows and "ship" about 1000 13-15lb weaned pigs a week.

Hopefully you can find someone. The grandparents hire a guy to do theirs but I dont think he would travel out your way, he seems pretty busy most the time with his actual job. Not many people doing that anymore, which is one of the reason we have been moving toward dorpers that shed their wool, and katadin that have hair.

I quit traveling to shear 3 years ago. A few people still bring theirs to my farm to be sheared. Will still shear 250+ sheep this year.
Over to 40+ years that I have sheared, my total is close to 150,000 animals.
I have been helping a local guy learn how. He is up to 1000+ head now and just getting the hang of it. But, we are in SEKY, and that would be to far to travel.

Just got in from the barn.
71 ewes, 122 lambs, have lost 6.
1 ewe in labor now.
Still have 104 ewes that could lamb.
6 sets of triples. 4 of the lambs lost have come from them.
