I am restoring an early D17 Serial # 3017. Would this tractor battery hookup be a negative ground or still a positive ground. It still has the original generator on it.

All Allis tractors with a generator were positive ground from the Factory. That doesn't mean someone might not have changed it, but that's what it was when new. If the wire on the ignition coil that goes to the distributor is +, that's what the battery should be for ground.
