I was plowing snow today with the WD45 . It makes a cracking sound in the back rim so is that the eccentrics are worn bad or the rails???thanks

Check the 8 bolts in the center of the wheel first.

Could be a loose eccentric, too.

if you hear the sound when going from forward to reverse, then it is the eccentrics letting the center move back and forth between the stops in the rail. If it makes the sound when going at a constant speed in one direction, tighten the 8 bolts holding the center disk to the axle flange.

Also check to see if the eccentrics are turned to the lock position too. I would doubt that the rails would be worn, unless something is very loose.
Cold weather can test everything! Regards, Chris

Ok checked the 8 center bolts they were not loose. It only does it going forward. The eccentrics are tight soI am thinking that they are worn bad enough to cause it to crack sound. Another thing it only does it on a really hard pull. I have never hear it when mold board plowing.

Yeah, your eccentric blocks are worn after years of use. I had that happen once to me. I pfarted around for a week trying different things and in the end, I called Sandy Lake and got some new ones. They are still solid, no squeaking.

When you buy new eccentrics you get both the pin and the other piece that the pin goes into

I've loosened them up and slid a piece of a hacksaw blade into them to tighten them up.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
