Hi,
How do I know witch muffler needs to be on our 1955 CA? It's a kerosine engine. The hood isn't original. Has the muffler to be under te hood (like most B's) or does it to be above / trough the hood? Thanks, Wot

The original muffler for the low octane engine was the under hood muffler and the through-the-hood muffler was for the gas engines. If you dont care about factory original, either muffler will be functional.

If you have a CA the muffler is thru the hood with a skirt to keep the water out. It bolts to the manifold with two cap screws.

I think 1948 was the last year for the under the hood muffler on the B?
CA never had them that I recall.

According to the AGCO parts book, CA's with low octane engine (kerosene) had the under hood muffler, but if you don't care about keeping it original, the straight muffler would be the way to go.
